Like trees in autumn, changes happen overnight at The Baker’s Store.

Employees and customers share a commonality when going to The Baker’s Store and Café. Every day and every visit, the store looks drastically different.

An exciting sneak peek of the future site of our entrance and new throne room!

The expansion construction is moving along at an amazingly fast pace. The project began in early June and we’re already seeing the concrete foundation going down and walls going up.

We hope to have our initial phase of construction completed by October 24th– unfortunately just past foliage season, but it will be helpful come hectic holiday shopping time.

One of the most important areas in our new building is the first to be finished… the bathrooms. (We love you, Deluxe Porta-Potties, but we’ll be happy to see you go). It’s only been a few short weeks since the construction on this particular area started.

The new driveway to our store/bakery/baking education center/café will also be roughed in and available for construction traffic in about a week. Once completed, it will allow customers easier entry and more parking.

Tied into the new driveway is the completion of the new parking lot (located where the overflow parking used to be, behind the store). It should also hopefully be completed at the end of next week.

We were fortunate to miss the brunt of Hurricane Irene at our Baker’s Store, but it did push back both the construction of the parking area and the delivery of materials needed.

We’re so happy to see all of the changes; and are even more excited that it will make your trip to the store easier and more enjoyable.

I love to see these pictures; wish I could be there in person but it’s a long trek from Oregon! Someday!! Meanwhile I’ll keep up to date with this most wonderful blog – I check it every day! Keep up the great work.

Just returned home to PA from our annual trip to visit our daughter and son-in-law in northern VT.(Burlington area). The weather was wonderful and warm but we did miss the fall colors! We always plan on making the trip complete by visiting KAF and we weren’t disappointed. We couldn’t believe the changes already made there and had a wonderful time browsing and buying while there.
We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to visit again next year!
